Irene Pelka zielt wissenschaftlich auf den Bereich zwischen Ästhetik, Wahrnehmungstheorie und Kunstgeschichte. Pelkas Kunstgeschichtsstudium in Köln, Stuttgart, Zürich, Karlsruhe und Bonn beschloss ihr Magister über C. O. Czeschka. Die wichtigsten universitären Lehrer sind Ihre Promotionsbetreuer Prof. Dr. B. U. Münch und Prof. Dr. B. Wyss. Vorträge führten Pelka ins In- und Ausland: u.a. an die Universitäten Lille und Zwickau zu Salomes Tanz, an die University of Glasgow zur Beziehung des Mackintosh-Kreises zur Wiener Secession und an die Rutgers-University New Jersey zum Gesamtkunstwerk. Darüber hinaus beschäftigt der israelische Gegenwartskünstler Gil Shachar Pelka in Publikationen, kuratierten Ausstellungen und Vorträgen. Weitere Veröffentlichungen Pelkas erforschen u.a. Leonardos Paradiesfest und den Allsehenden in Jan van Eyck-Bildern. Seit 2021 ist Pelka im Internationalen Aisthesis Kolleg. Pelkas Promotionsschrift thematisiert: „Raum und Zeit in den Bildzyklen des Wiener Jugendstils bei Gustav Klimt und Carl Otto Czeschka“.
Irene Pelka scientifically aims at the area between aesthetics, perception theory and art history. Pelka's art history studies in Cologne, Stuttgart, Zurich, Karlsruhe and Bonn concluded her master's degree on C. O. Czeschka. The most important university teachers are her doctoral supervisors Prof. Dr. B. U. Münch and Prof. Dr. B. Wyss. Lectures have taken Pelka to Germany and abroad: among others, to the Universities of Lille and Zwickau on Salome's dance, to the University of Glasgow on the relationship of the Mackintosh circle to the Vienna Secession, and to Rutgers University New Jersey on the Gesamtkunstwerk. Pelka also explores Israeli contemporary artist Gil Shachar through publications, curated exhibitions, and lectures. Pelka's other publications explore Leonardo's Paradise Feast and the All-Seeing in Jan van Eyck paintings, among others. Pelka joined the International Aisthesis College in 2021. Pelka's doctoral dissertation focuses on "Space and Time in the Pictorial Cycles of Viennese Art Nouveau by Gustav Klimt and Carl Otto Czeschka."
